see Pete's Harp Case for gigs - June 2004) Musical Equipment – Current 2003 Microphones: For Vocals - Shure Beta SM58 For Harmonica - Shure Beta SM58 Wireless System and lately a Shure 545SD - Occasionally I use a Hohner “Blues Blaster” Amplifiers: - Fender “Blues Junior”, 15 Watts, 1x12” speaker - Fender “Super”, 60Watts, 4x10” speakers These days, most of the time I use the Blues Junior amp with the Beta 58 wireless system. It’s great not being tied down by a cord – I can wander wherever I want to. The Harp Soundbite “Hobo Train” (Listen) is an example of how this combination sounds. The Harp Soundbites “Playhouse” (Listen) and “Temperature” (Listen) feature the combination of the Bluesblaster microphone with the Super amp. Also, a main consideration for me these days is that the Junior is a lot lighter to carry than the Super!!
- Tombo “Lee Oskar” Harps – A nice airtight 10 hole diatonic harp, which I mainly use in the Natural Minor tunings. - Hohner “Golden Melody” 10 hole diatonic that is very airtight. I love how it feels in the hand, and it’s great for fast single-note runs, and overblows/overdraws (at which I am only a beginner!!) - Neil Graham “Custom Blackwood” 10 hole diatonic. As tight and responsive as
the Golden Melody, and LOUD AS ALL …!*$^*&^%#$!….!! - I have as many harmonicas as I can afford to customised by Neil Graham Custom Harps in NSW. His modifications make the harp more responsive, solid, louder, faster and easier to play than a stock standard harp. At around Aus$300. per harp, they are not cheap, but I just love how good they are!! - I buy all my harmonicas and other musical equipment from Main St. Music in Greensborough. Thanks to Tony and family for taking such terrific care of me over the years!! |
